Senior Conferences:

Senior conferences were held the last week of August. Mrs. Harlan met with each senior to discuss credits they need to graduate, necessary requirements for college prep and honors, A+ status, future plans and financial aid. A financial aid packet was sent home with each student. All seniors and parents are encouraged to on online and get a FSA ID now to be ready to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after October 1st. Information about how to complete this step, along with a FAFSA on the web worksheet were included in the financial aid packet.

SCHOLARSHIP LIST

Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Linn County:
This scholarship is available for any high school senior advancing to college, regardless what field of study they are pursuing. Applications are available on the school website and must be returned directly to the Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Linn County office in Meadville.
Applications are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 13. 

Linn County Farm Bureau Scholarship:
Criteria for this award include:

  1. Parents must be a current member of the Linn County Farm Bureau and must have been a member prior to August 31, 2017.
  2. Applicant must be a high school senior and must attend an accredited college (2 or 4 year), vo-tech institute or trade school in the fall of 2018 for a minimum of 1 semester.
  3. Upon the recipient’s presentation of a class schedule for the fall 2018 semester to the Linn County Farm Bureau Office, they will then be presented with a check for the scholarship amount.

Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on April 13, 2018. They should be mailed or taken to the Linn County Farm Bureau Office, 203 W Helm St, Brookfield, MO 64628. 

NCMC Scholarships:
The application process for NCMC scholarships is now open at the following website: http://www.ncmissouri.edu/financialaid/ncmc-scholarship/.  You should select “2018-2019 application” then select “Printable PDF version” (button at right of screen). Fill out the form on your computer then PRINT it, sign it and return it to the address provided by April 15. 

Fraternal Order of Eagles, Marceline #726 Scholarship: 
Applicants must be a student whose mother or father belongs to the Marceline Aerie or Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles #726 for at least one year. Applications are available on the school website.
Applications must be submitted to Louis V. Coe, Secretary, 205 E. Crocker St., Marceline, MO 64658 no later than April 15, 2018.

Pershing Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Health Career Scholarships:
Applicants must submit application as well as verification of current terms’ grade and acceptance at an accredited institution in a course of study leading to a career in a medical field. Applications can be found on the school website and should be returned directly to the PMH Auxiliary Scholarship Committee.
Applications are due by April 15. 

Marceline Rotary Club Scholarship:
Any Marceline High School senior may apply. The application can be found on the school website.
Complete applications are due to Mrs. Harlan by April 16, 2018. 

Chuck Woods – Brookfield Fabricating Corp. Scholarship:
Any graduating senior of Brookfield High School or from an area high school that is a family member of a current Brookfield Fabricating Corp. employee is eligible. Preference may be given to applicants pursuing a career in Engineering, Computer Drafting, Industrial Technologies, Manufacturing and Business Administration. The applicant should read and understand the “Guideline Criteria for Scholarship Selection.” Applications can be found on the school website.
Applications are due to Mrs. Harlan by April 16. 

Ben Burnett Democrat Memorial Scholarship:
Any Marceline High School senior may apply. The application can be found on the school website.
Complete applications must be RECEIVED by April 19 – the committee is meeting that evening to select the winner. Applications should be mailed to Donna Switzer, 32782 Little Road, Bucklin, MO 64631. 

Marceline Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship: 
The application can be found on the school website.
Complete applications are due to Mrs. Harlan by April 20, 2018. 

Harold L. Snowden Scholarship:
This scholarship is open to any MHS graduate planning to pursue a college degree in geography. Interested students should see Mrs. Harlan for more information.

Prenger Family Scholarship:
The scholarship is awarded annually to an applicant demonstrating strong work ethic and the potential to enter a business-related vocational or academic program of study. Applications are available on the school website.
Applications are due to Mrs. Harlan by May 1. 

St. Bonaventure Knights of Columbus #9208 Scholarship Grant:
Applicants for this scholarship must have a parent who is a member of the St. Bonaventure Knights of Columbus. Applications can be found on the school website.
