District Goal #1:

          Students in the Marceline R-V School District will develop and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to

          make decisions and function as ethical, responsible members of society.

District Standards for Goal #1:

Students will demonstrate within and integrate across all content areas the ability to:

1.    Identify information used to support decisions and reasoning.

2.    Identify, analyze, and apply the duties, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship for local, state, national, and global societies.

3.   Recognize and practice ethics in academic work.

4.    Identify tasks and interact cooperatively within a group setting to accomplish goals in a timely manner.

5.   Apply a knowledge of safety and health practices to protect individual members of society.

6.   Investigate and prepare for career opportunities.

Students in the Marceline R-V School District will acquire the knowledge and skills to recognize

problems, gather related information and ideas, organize and analyze them, and then apply this

knowledge to solve problems.

1.    Recognize problems and develop questions and ideas to begin research.

2.   Design and conduct research in field and laboratory settings to answer questions and assess information and ideas.

3.   Analyze and apply strategies based on others or their own experiences when solving current problems or preventing future problems.

4.   Evaluate the approaches used in identifying and solving problems.

5.    Incorporate all available resources to locate, select, and organize information.

6.    Understand and evaluate verbal and nonverbal forms of data.

7.    Recognize and critique cause and effect relationships.

8.   Conduct inductive and deductive reasoning of facts and premises.

9.   Determine the reliability and validity of the information and their sources.

10.   Integrate data, information and ideas into a useful format for analysis or presentation.

11.   Analyze possible solutions to problems from diverse perspectives.

1.  Design effective verbal and nonverbal communications for a variety of purposes and audiences.

2.   Integrate a variety of methods, forms, and technologies to exchange information and idea

3.  Review and revise written, oral, and nonverbal communication to accommodate various people and situations.

4.  Express ideas, opinions, and arguments in an organized and persuasive way.

5.  Interact thoughtfully to the ideas and opinions of others and interpret the impact of the message.

6.  Critique and respond to various forms of communication.

7.  Express aesthetic awareness and produce in the arts, humanities, and sciences.
