District Goal #1:

Students in the Marceline R-V School District will develop and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to make decisions and function as ethical, responsible members of society.

District Standards for Goal #1:

Students will demonstrate within and integrate across all content areas the ability to:

  • Identify information used to support decisions and reasoning.

  • Identify, analyze, and apply the duties, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship for local, state, national, and global societies.

  • Recognize and practice ethics in academic work.

  • Identify tasks and interact cooperatively within a group setting to accomplish goals in a timely manner.

  • Apply a knowledge of safety and health practices to protect individual members of society.

Students in the Marceline R-V School District will acquire the knowledge and skills to recognize problems, gather related information and ideas, organize and analyze them, and then apply this knowledge to solve problems.

  • Incorporate all available resources to locate, select, and organize information.

  • Understand and evaluate verbal and nonverbal forms of data.

  • Recognize and critique cause and effect relationships.

  • Conduct inductive and deductive reasoning of facts and premises.

  • Determine the reliability and validity of the information and their sources.

  • Integrate data, information and ideas into a useful format for analysis or presentation.

  • Interact thoughtfully to the ideas and opinions of others and interpret the impact of the message.

  • Critique and respond to various forms of communication.

  • Express aesthetic awareness and produce in the arts, humanities, and sciences.
