COVID

The Marceline R-V School District values the safety, health and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors.  I am providing an update regarding the flu season which has affected our area in recent weeks as well as the new COVID19 virus known as Coronavirus.  We continue to focus on the guidance supplied by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.  In short we are focusing on handwashing, hygiene and facility cleanliness.

With this fluid situation, we in the Marceline R-V District will do our best to provide you with information in as timely a manner as possible.  We are emphasizing with our faculty and staff the importance of flexibility and adaptability as nothing is set in stone with this illness.  We are in the process of creating plans for various scenarios.  Speculation could lead to misinformation so I will refrain from that at this time.  We must be prepared for anything.  The Linn & Chariton County Health Departments and Missouri State Government officials are also providing guidance.  Please keep in mind that our schools not only serve our students, but also serve as a hub for community activities.

To get the latest updates on the Coronavirus, please see the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html  Here is more information on the coronavirus from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services:  https://health.mo.gov/living/healthcondiseases/communicable/novel-coronavirus/

Please feel free to contact our school nurse or administration with any further questions regarding the flu season and Coronavirus updates.

We will continue to work with the Health Department and follow our pandemic flu plan.  Increased cleaning procedures have already been taking place due to the normal influenza season and will continue as we weather this new virus.  Please follow the information closely and stay home if you are sick.

Good handwashing practices continues to be our best defense against the spread of disease, so make sure you and your family are washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.  If you have any questions or concerns, contact Nurse Kelly.
