The Missouri State Legislature and the Missouri Department of Secondary and Elementary Education has approved a plan for schools to implement an Alternative Methods of Instructions (AMI) Plan on days when there is an unexpected school closure due to inclement weather. The Marceline R-V School District has an approved AMI Plan that has not been utilized up to this date.
Our goal is to only use the AMI when or if severe weather is forecasted in advance and our faculty can communicate with students and parents in advance. If the AMI plan is going to be implemented during a school cancellation, the Marceline R-V Schools will make that announcement by school messaging, social media and on local media stations. If we implement an AMI day, that day will not have to be made up on the school calendar.
The AMI plan will be different by building and grade level. Your student(s)’ teachers and building principal will communicate how the AMI will work for your student. Students will be expected to complete any assigned work during AMI days to have their attendance counted for that day.
