Dear Marceline R-V Community:
Last evening, December 19th, 2022, at our regular Board of Education meeting, the school board voted unanimously to leave the LCC Conference and join the Grand River Conference (GRC) beginning the 2024-25 school year. This decision did not come lightly as Marceline R-V was one of the early members of the LCC Conference, but it is one that was necessary to have conference stability and sustainability for years to come. The GRC gives us stability in student enrollment and activities provided.
Ultimately, we want to provide our students with the best opportunities to compete in all activities and be successful. Many hours of research have gone into this decision, especially the travel comparison. Overall, the travel is nearly identical in miles/hours, so we feel that this decision is beneficial on all levels.
