Mrs. Mosier is the ELC's lead teacher, who also teaches a four and five year old classroom. She is assisted by Miss Addy. Students in Mrs. Mosier's classroom work on saying the alphabet, letter identification, counting, and shapes. They listen to stories, have a class music time, and play at centers to foster their development. They also use apps on the iPads to help with the cognitive/academic skills they are learning. Recess time is used for gross motor development.
Students also work on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Students begin to learn sight words and read with beginning readers. They work on number recognition, patterns, and letter and number formation.
