Softball

October 25th, 2022

Dear Marceline R-V Community,

It has not been long since my last update, but we have a lot going on, so please see the district-wide update below.

News/Updates:

2022 MAP/EOC Scores

DESE puts out the state average percentages of Proficient/Advanced scores for each MAP/EOC test given and our students' averages were above the state average in each category, which is a truly impressive accomplishment. I want to commend our students, faculty/staff, and building-level administration on their hard work. These scores are truly a testament to dedication and sacrifice on many levels.

FFA National Convention

Ten of our FFA students will be attending the Nation Convention in Indianapolis, IN this week. We hope they have a great experience and make memories that will last a lifetime.

“Best of North Missouri” Awards from CherryRoad Media

Winner: Congratulations to our ELC that was voted as the Winner of North Missouri’s Best Pre-School! We appreciate the support and we are very thankful for our teachers at the ELC and the time and commitment that they put in each day.

Finalists (Top Three): Mrs. Greta Cathey (Best Teacher), Mr. Matt Finch (Best Principal), Walt Disney Elementary (Best Pre-School), Marceline Middle School (Best MS), Marceline High School (Best HS), Marceline R-V (Best Public School)

We appreciate everyone who voted/supported us in this process!

District Football

Our 5-4 Tiger Football Team will travel to Brookfield on Friday, October 28th for a rematch against Brookfield. Best of luck to our Tigers! The game can be streamed live at https://mshsaa.tv/

State Softball

For the third time in four years, our Lady Tiger softball team has made the State Softball Championships, which is an incredible feat. The Lady Tigers play at 11:00 a.m. in Springfield against Eugene High School. Best of luck to them as they complete their incredible run! The bracket with times of games can be found at https://www.mshsaa.org/Activities/DistrictWinners.aspx?alg=38&class=2&year=2022

The games will be streamed live at https://mshsaa.tv/

No School and Watch Event on Friday, 10/28

There will be no school on Friday, 10/28 for State Softball.

There will be a State Softball Watch Event for the semifinal game against Eugene. This will be held in the Auditorium and is free to the community. Doors will open at 10:45 a.m. and we ask that only water is brought in to eliminate the possibility of large messes to clean up. We want community members to have the opportunity to watch the Lady Tigers who may not be able to travel to Springfield.

As always, I am grateful to be a Marceline Tiger!

 Respectfully,

 Dr. Zach Bruner, Superintendent
