Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020, families that qualify for free or reduced price meals at school may be eligible for a new one-time Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) of up to $302 per child (Pre-Kindergarten – Grade 12) to help cover the cost of meals students have eaten at home on days that schools have been closed. Students can receive P-EBT benefits even if they have been or continue to receive meals provided by the school district during the school closure. If your child was not previously eligible for free or reduced price meals, but you have now lost income, you may be eligible to receive P-EBT benefits (review the P-EBT Eligibility Criteria document below). The benefit is placed on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card families use to buy food. If you received Food Stamp (SNAP) benefits in March, do not apply for these new/additional benefits. The full $302 will automatically be loaded to your existing EBT card. If you did not receive Food Stamp (SNAP) benefits in March, you must apply for this benefit by June 30, 2020 (see below). The most efficient way to apply is to submit your application online at EmergencyMealSurvey.com/MO. You will also likely experience a faster approval process. If you’re not able to apply online, you can follow the link below to the paper application. The fillable PDF document can then be emailed or mailed to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). You will find complete instructions and additional details in the letter to families below. Please review these important documents carefully: · P-EBT Letters to Family https://dese.mo.gov/sites/default/files/P-EBT-Letter-to-Families.pdf · P-EBT Eligibility Criteria https://dese.mo.gov/sites/default/files/P-EBT-Eligibility-Criteria.pdf · P-EBT Online Application https://www.emergencymealsurvey.com/MO · P-EBT Paper Application (hard copy to fill out and email or mail to DESE if you’re not able to submit the application online) https://dese.mo.gov/sites/default/files/P-EBT-Application.pdf · P-EBT Frequently Asked Questions https://dese.mo.gov/sites/default/files/P-EBT-FAQ.pdf To request a paper application be mailed to you, please contact Marceline Central Office at 660-376-3371. Please do not send completed applications to your school; see the letter to families above for application submission information.

Additional Scholarship Announcements Mrogenski Educational Trust Scholarship We are pleased to announce that Maddie Cupp and Alex McCauslin are being awarded the Mrogenski Educational Trust Scholarships in the amount of $1000 each. These awards are payable in two $500 payments at the start of each semester when proof of enrollment is presented to the committee. Congratulations to Maddie and Alex! Lucian & Loena Porter Living Memorial Scholarship: The Lucian & Loena Porter Living Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 to honor a Marceline High School Senior. Both Mr. & Mrs. Porter were residents and members of the work force in Marceline for many years and were also members of the United Methodist Church. Lucian was a railroader and Loena was a Walsworth employee before her retirement. Mr. & Mrs. Porter, as well as their 4 children, were all graduates of Marceline High School. To give back to this community, they wish to give this scholarship to help a student further his or her education. We are honored to announce this year’s Lucian & Loena Porter Living Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500 to Colby Sims. The alternate for this award is Hayden Krumpelman.

The Marceline R-V School District has made a difficult decision to limit Summer Journey 2020 enrollment to only those students who are residents of the Marceline R-V School District. Transportation and social distancing requirements have weighted heavily on this decision. Enrollment for Marceline students will remain open until May 18th. Summer Journey will begin on June 1st and extend through July 2nd. These dates are subject to change based on health guidelines. More information will be sent to Marceline R-V parents in the next few days. Registration link is available on the school website.

KWIX, KRES, KIRK, KTCM Radio has provided a page on their website at centralmoinfo.com where you can post your Graduates picture. Click on the banner 'Area Graduates' and then select 'Surrounding Counties 2020 Graduates' and share your graduate's photo along with a personal message or information about your graduate. The message could also include accomplishments and/or their plans following graduation. Graduation is a milestone everyone looks forward to. But for the class of 2020, this year will be one they never forget. Unfortunately, many will not be able to participate in the traditional ceremony, but that doesn't mean their accomplishments should go unnoticed. That's why we're inviting you to share photos of your graduate, whether they're graduating from high school, college, 8th grade, kindergarten, or preschool. Log on to centralmoinfo.com today to upload your photo and let everyone know how proud you are. Photos will appear within 24 hours of submission.
