On October 28, members of the Marceline FBLA took to the streets for their annual Trick-or-Treat for Canned Goods service project and the community responded in a big way. Students went door-to-door throughout town collecting non-perishable food items to help restock the shelves of the Marceline CWC food pantry.
Thanks to the generosity of local families, FBLA members collected over 3,000 canned goods in a single evening. In addition to the food donations, the chapter also presented the Marceline CWC with a donation of $800. “We are incredibly grateful for the kindness our community continues to show,” said FBLA Vice President Alaura Coe. “This project is one of our favorites because we get to give back directly to the people right here at home.”
The Marceline FBLA chapter would like to thank all who donated food, supported fundraising, or helped spread the word. The contributions will help the local food pantry continue serving families in need as the holiday season approaches. FBLA remains committed to leadership, service, and community involvement and this year’s Trick-or-Treat event is a strong reminder of the impact that can happen when a community comes together.
