This week, Marceline’s Rotary Interact members worked hard to make Valentine’s cards for residents at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center. They were able to hand-deliver these cards and chat with residents yesterday evening!
Thank you to Pioneer staff for letting our crew swing by for a visit, and especially to the residents for their time! The kids had a great time and look forward to making this a new tradition.

The Marceline R-V Board of Education voted unanimously in September 2025 to rename the Bus Barn to the “Tom Lodder Memorial Bus Barn” in honor of Tom’s 52 years of dedicated service to the Marceline R-V School District.
One year ago today, Tom Lodder passed away tragically, leaving his family, friends, and the people of our school district in a state of shock and grief. Tom was this district’s Transportation Director, Bus Mechanic, Bus Driver, and Groundskeeper, among many other things. We still feel his loss on a daily basis, as he was someone so many people could rely upon. Dedicating the Bus Barn in Tom’s name is the least we can do to honor a man who poured so much of himself into this school district.
C & B Welding & Fabricating LLC constructed the sign displayed in the photos, which will be hung on the West side of the Bus Barn in the coming days. I want to thank Chuck Core and his crew for the amazing work done on such a meaningful project.
I want to thank Tom’s family for their help in making this happen the way he would have wanted, and for their trust in allowing us to honor him to the best of our abilities.
Tom’s life and service will always be remembered in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him, and our Bus Barn will bear his name as a way to honor him physically as well. With heavy hearts, we are honored to introduce the school district's Bus Barn as the Tom Lodder Memorial Bus Barn.
Sincerely,
Dr. Zach Bruner Superintendent
